Many people resist surrender because they fear losing control. However, the Bible assures us that surrendering to God leads to rest, not anxiety. In Matthew 11:28–30, Jesus invites us, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
This passage shows that surrender is not about giving up, but about exchanging the heavy load of self-reliance for the gentle and secure care of the Savior. When we come to Jesus with a surrendered heart, we experience peace that replaces striving.
