- Stay connected to Scripture. The Word of God sharpens awareness and keeps faith alive. Regular reading and reflection bring sensitivity to the Spirit.
By actively pursuing these practices, the believer moves from coldness to commitment, from apathy to love, and from self-focus to Christlike service.
The Example of Christ
Jesus Christ perfectly embodied the opposite of indifference. Throughout His ministry, He was deeply moved by compassion. Matthew 9:36 says, "When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd."
Christ never ignored the cries of the hurting. He touched the sick, comforted the brokenhearted, wept with those who mourned, and reached out to sinners with forgiveness and grace. His love was active and self-sacrificing.
